Ladies Day Friday

CELEBRATION OF WOMEN IN PEAK EQUESTRIAN SPORTS - FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Ladies Day: Celebration of Women in Peak Equestrian Sports!

Here's the riddle: Horse-crazy girls make up almost all the young riders at every barn, yet top-level racing and equestrian competition still has mostly men. Where do they learn to ride? Regardless, despite the dominance by women in amateur equestrian sports, it still takes extra work and dedication for women riders to succeed at the top, riding against the best of the best. Friday, November 16th, is a day dedicated to top ladies in equestrian sports, human and equine! This year, we will hear from two of the top riders in eventing: 1) Gemma Tattersall, the Gold Medal Winner of the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, and 2) Lynn Symansky, the 2nd top placed US rider in the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, who has ridden her way to the top with Donner, an Off-Track Thoroughbred!

The lunch will be moderated by Jen Roytz, Executive Director of the Retired Racehorse Project.

There will be a luncheon at the OJC Clubhouse on Friday, November 16, 2018, noon to 1 pm, and discussion to follow. Admission is free to riders, officials and VIP ticket holders. Admission is $45/ticket to all others.
